Surrounded by some of Scotland’s most beautiful countryside, Farview – a 150-year-old cottage set in secluded gardens - is ideal for all types of holidaymaker. Guests, ranging from elderly couples and young families to golfers and honeymooners, can enjoy a host of cultural and sporting activities in Perthshire, Angus or Fife – many within a short drive. Skirting the picturesque market town of Blairgowrie, Farview combines character and comfort. The interior is quaint yet tastefully renovated with quality furnishings and fabrics. Guests comment that the cottage is surprisingly well equipped and has a very cosy and homely feel. Must-sees for history buffs are Glamis Castle, Scone Palace and the Pictish Stones. The surrounding area is also famous as a golfer’s paradise and a haven for anglers. Nearby Glenshee attracts skiers and hill walkers. Hikers can follow the 100km Cateran Trail that starts and finishes in Blairgowrie. Shoppers will love the antique village at Rait or strolling around Blair’s Wellmeadow. And if you’re not a shopper what better than a tour of Edradour Distillery. One of the most outstanding features of Farview is the sense of being in the countryside and yet within walking distance of major amenities. After a busy day, the Old Cross Inn - a 90-second walk - is a godsend. On warm evenings, however, there is nowhere better to eat and relax than in the mature, enclosed gardens that face the Sidlaw Hills and provide a safe play area for kids.
