Chimp trekking in Mahale National ParkThis park has no roads to it. The only way to get to Mahale is by boat or plane. With no money, we took a 1913 ferry, mvLiemba to get here from Kigoma, Tanzania. The ferry was built by the Germans, sunk by them during WWI so that the Brits wouldn't get it, and then brought back up by the British. For almost 100 years now, it's been traversing lake Tanganyika.
