This 600 sq. ft. cottage for sale is on an island on Borden Lake near Chapleau, a small self contained community of 2500 people in northern Ontario, Canada. The island is a little over 19 acres in size and the cottage sits on 9.28 acres with the remainder being crown land, owned by the government. It is the only cottage on this island. There are 2 access points for launching boats which allows for a 10 minute ride to the cottage from either location. Borden Lake is a large fresh water lake dotted with many islands. It is about 9 miles long with this cottage being almost in the middle. Fishing is great at most times for an array of different fish including Pike, Bass, Walleye, Lake Trout, White Fish, and a few smaller species. I have completed some extensive renovations to the cottage this past summer of 2009. These include new roofing, new windows, some new walls and paint staining some exterior walls. Other renovations are planned for next summer as the lake is soon to freeze over. The interior is mostly open concept with a private washroom area. The island is very accessable by snow machine in winter and is close to major groomed snow machine trails.
