Hi Cornelia and Tom. We just purchased an ocean front lot in the best organised development on the Ecuadorian coast. It is called Coco Beach Village. It is in a small fishing town called El Matel, near a town called Jama. It is not your typical beach town. It has what ever you need close by, but there are not the noisy trappings of the busy party beach towns.

The development has underground utilities and water right to all 66 lots (33 right on the beach, with no road in front and 33 with very nice elevated ocean views). There are an abundance of coconut trees (hence the name), central road system inside, 24hr security in a private gated community. There are still plenty of beautiful ocean front lots as well as nice elevated ocean view lots (with beach access) available.

We loved the vision of the American developers, who are committed to making this the best ocean development in Ecuador. We purchased almost a year ago and we are planning to go there this Christmas. There is no time restrictions on when to build, but when you build (regardless of the size of your house), it must be visually pleasing, so as to keep every lot owner's value.

Some have purchased multiple adjacent lots. The development looks to be first class, but the price is very reasonable for what you get. Why would you want just any beach lot, if you have no control of what is going to be built next to you (tall buildings or ugly buildings). This is going to be a very nice development when it is complete. It looks great now! There are paved roads to the development from the highway. I have'nt seen a development on the coast of Ecuador that is this well organised and this visually appealing. I sound like the developer!, but i am really happy i purchased here.

From what i have seen so far, the developers are first rate (two brothers from the U.S). They made the whole proccess of buying my lot very convienient and painless.
