The house is located in a turtle sanctuary, great snorkling, swimming, diving (night dives too). You can go fishing, kayaking, kite and wind surfing, boggie boarding, jet skiing, boating on catamarans, motor or sail boats in Puerto Aventuras, which is just minutes away. There is aqua aerobics and yoga, as well as massages and sometimes Thai Chi. You can jog and bicycle, bird watch, catch butterflies or search for sea shells or sea glass. On Fridays there is Karaoke and Crab Racing. The Mayan Rivera boasts the world´s second largest reef (other than the great Barrier Reef of the coast of Australia). Some of the underwater world includes manterays, some with pink polka dots, turltes, baracuda (the resident baracuda is named Bob). In Rio Lagartos you can see pink flamingos (they are pink- it is more of an orange, because they eat lots of shrimp), salt harvesting, Wale sharks of the coast close to Cancun. There are caves to be explored (Lol Tun) and lots of churches due to the Spanish conquistadors. Merida, a true colonial gem, is only four hours away and boasts museums and traditional dance spectacles in local costumes (free event) in the town square.
