The Apoyo Crater is the remains a enormous ancient volcano, filled with freshwater and very sparsely populated. The crater ecosystem is home to numerous species of birds, fish and mammals, including congo and white faced monkeys. In the distance looms the Mombacho Volcano... truly impressive.
