Artist: Robert Horlin.
Oil on board, 36" x 24". 1969
Painted at the time of his visit to the Seychelles June-September 1969, this work was in response to an initiative by the museum to present an exhibition of artworks depicting various historically important sites in the islands. It was donated to the museum and remains part of the national collection. Horlin produced some 14 paintings during his stay in the Seychelles, depicting the magnificent sea-scapes, the people and their houses.
The estate house at Anse la Mouche has since been declared a National Monument.
