Macadamia Orchard  

The young Macadamia orchard is located 1/2 kilometer from the main house, on a good cobblestone street located on the crest of a gently sloping hill where one can view Asuncion and the Rio Paraguay in the distance. These 10 hectares are planted to 2, 100 well established five year old macadamia trees. They have been pruned and fertilized regularilly. There is a full-time orchardist to cut the grass, spray, etc. This man is paid $150. monthly for his services and additional help is available for $4. per day............ There are a number of large and flowering native trees remaining........This property also has a native style tenant house for the help to use. It is basic but does have running water and bathroom. This property is also served with electricity and community water service...........The cost of power there is usually about $5. or $10. per month and the cost of the water is usually about $4. per month..............
