The decision to place an elderly loved one in a personal care home can be emotional, stressful and overwhelming to all concerned. We understand this is a difficult time, and it is our priority to offer the support and guidance needed to allow the transition to be as easy and comfortable as possible. At first the new resident may express feelings of frustration and abandonment, and family may experience a sense of guilt and uncertainty. We've learned patience is one of the key elements that will help make the transition successful. We know a new routine will be established, new friendships will be made, the companionship of one's peers brings a new sense of confidence, security and peace of mind. Eventually everything will fall into place, the new environment will become familiar and once again they will have that sense of feeling like its "home".
